Art commission:
We are looking for one piece to serve as the logo/emblem of the 2012 Individual World Poetry Slam which will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

– A 1-year free pass to all Ozark Poetry Slam Events
– Advertisement in the official IWPS 2012 program
– Gallery space in at least one of the events at IWPS 2012
(we are working on more prizes for the winner, and will announce them and amend this note once they are confirmed)

The theme of the piece is “Homegrown”. The piece needs to represent the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Possible focuses: the organic and natural elements of the town, the Ozark Mountains, the interplay of urban and mountainous environments. The theme should incorporate or be paired with either the words “Individual World Poetry Slam 2012” or the shortened version, “IWPS 2012”. Feel free to present multiple versions of the same piece, as we will likely end up needing variations to fit on a variety of mediums.

The piece will be used for the following purposes and more: Banners, posters, guide book covers, shirts, buttons, websites, and online event announcements.  The image should be easily rendered in both color and black-and-white.  It should also be scalable to both very small (coffee cup or pin size) and very large (banner size).

The submission deadline is 11:59 pm of February 29th, 2012. No late entries will be accepted.  Send your final designs in PDF, JPG or PNG format to . If you are submitting multiple separate designs which are not variations on the same design, please send them in separate e-mails. The subject of your e-mail should be “design submission”, with a number after it if you are submitting multiple designs. Please include in your e-mail , your name, where you’re from, and a few ways we can contact you.
