September 30th – Rumi’s Birthday

Standard

A painting of Rumi by Bilinmiyor

No lie – on this day in 1270, Rumi came into the world and we, here at the Asylum, think that’s pretty neat.  We’ll have an open mic as usual (3-5 minutes or two poems, whichever come first) and afterwards, bring your Rumi down (Sarah will contribute some copies if you’ve misplaced your own) and we’ll get a little round robin up in here.  Cake, too!   Also tonight, we will be feting our 2012 iWPS rep, Jenith Charpentier, who will be doing a feature for us. And, as if that’s not cool enough, we’re sneaking in a spotlight feature by John S Blake too! Ceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelebrate good times COME ON! Doors at 6:30, show at 7 – always an open mic, always all ages and free free free; coffee and snacks by donation.
