David Kealiʻi is a queer poet of mixed Kanaka Maoli descent who was born in Western Massachusetts. A member of the 2009 Worcester Slam team, his work also appears in, or is forthcoming from: Assaracus: a Journal of Gay Poetry, XCP:Cross Cultural Poetics, and Hawai‘i Pacific Review. In December 2012 he received his Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He is currently a Master’s student with the Center for Pacific Islands Studies, and occasionally asks himself he is insane for getting a second MA degree. He is also a member of the student led activist groups hauMāna, Oceania Rising, and is a founding member of Nolu Ehu: A Queer Nesian Arts Collective.
